ResumeJet is a free resume builder that runs in your web browser. We designed it so that your personal information stays with you. This page explains exactly what is and isn't collected.
The short version
There are no accounts. Your resumes are saved only in your own browser, on your own device. We do not receive, store or sell your resume content, and we do not use advertising or tracking cookies.
Your resumes and settings
Everything you type, import or generate — including your name, contact details, work history, photo, cover letters and design choices — is stored in your browser's local storage. It is not sent to ResumeJet's servers, because ResumeJet does not have a database or user accounts.
Because the data lives in your browser, clearing your browser data, using a private window or switching devices will remove or hide it. Download a PDF or Word copy of anything you want to keep. You can delete your data at any time from the My resumes page or by clearing your browser's site data.
Importing a resume
When you import a PDF, Word or text file, it is read inside your browser. The file is not uploaded to ResumeJet. To read PDF and Word files, your browser downloads small open-source reader scripts from a public content delivery network (cdnjs).
Optional AI features
AI features are optional and only run when you click them. When you use one, the relevant text (for example your job description or the bullet points you want improved) is sent directly from your browser to the AI provider you have chosen — Puter, Groq, Google Gemini, OpenAI, Pollinations or an endpoint you configure. That provider processes it under its own privacy policy and terms. ResumeJet does not see or store these requests or the responses.
If you enter an API key, it is stored only in your browser's local storage and is sent only to the provider it belongs to. Do not enter keys on a shared computer. Avoid putting information into AI features that you do not want a third-party provider to receive.
Third-party services
To work, the site loads fonts from Google Fonts and, when importing files, reader scripts from cdnjs. Loading these resources means the provider can see technical information such as your IP address and browser type, as with any website that uses them. ResumeJet is hosted on Cloudflare, which may keep standard server logs (such as IP address and requested page) for security and performance.
Cookies and analytics
ResumeJet does not set advertising or tracking cookies and does not currently use analytics. It uses your browser's local storage only to save your work and preferences. If this changes — for example, if we add analytics or advertising — we will update this policy and, where the law requires it, ask for your consent first.
Children
ResumeJet is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone, since we do not collect personal information at all.
Your rights
Because we do not hold your personal data, there is nothing for us to access, correct or delete on our side. You are in full control of what is stored in your browser. If you use a third-party AI provider, contact that provider about data it may hold.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as the product evolves. The date at the top shows when it last changed. Continued use of ResumeJet after an update means you accept the revised policy.
